A personal portfolio reimagined as a nostalgic Windows 95 style desktop, one icon per project
About
Archive is one of my earliest portfolios, and the one that brought in most of my first real clients. Instead of a traditional scrolling site, I rebuilt the entire experience as a nostalgic desktop interface, each project sitting as its own clickable icon, right down to the pixel art, the cursor, and the Start button. No pages beyond the desktop itself, just a single screen doing all the work.
Process
Rebuilt the classic Windows 95 desktop from scratch as the entire portfolio experience: custom pixel art icons for each project, the taskbar, the cursor, all designed to feel authentic rather than like a parody. Every project became its own "exe" file sitting on the desktop, turning the act of browsing my work into something playful and memorable instead of another scrolling case study page.
Results
This portfolio became my strongest client acquisition tool early on, its distinctive format made it memorable enough that people reached out specifically because of it.
